One Day Protein Orange Red Green Smoothie

So today I decided to make something a little more adventurous for you, with my One Day Protein.  I made it a combination of Orange fruits, Red fruit and veggie and Green veggies.  I also threw in there a banana because if you can stand touching it, a banana brings a lot of tastes together without overpowering it with its own taste.  If you want it thinner, omit the banana.

In the summer months, for us northern folk, fresh, local produce is a wonder.  It makes it easier to buy without waxes also.

Ingredients:

  • ORANGE: 2 “Cuties” or very small clementines (you can use 1 tangerine if you want)
  • ORANGE: 1 – whole pink grapefruit (technically this is either red or yellow but the skin is orange)
  • ORANGE: 1/2 cup cantaloupe – more or less by your taste.
  • RED:    1 or 2 leaves of red kale.  It is a beautiful “green” to behold and has both red and green antioxidant value to it.
  • RED:    1/2 cup of watermelon – more or less by your taste.  This is a great way to add more liquid.
  • GREEN:  1 – 2″ round of cucumber with peel (unless the peel is waxed)
  • 1/2 banana – you can use the whole banana but it will make it thicker and that is not my preference here since we are using all high liquid fruits here.
  • 1 scoop One Day Protein Vanilla

Blend with a little water if you would like it to be thinner and drink it up.  This is packed with antioxidants and Vitamin C and the kale, grapefruit and watermelon are helpful to weightloss and detoxifying.
